A political initiative aimed at promoting policy dialogue on water sector reforms and improvements, encouraging capacity-building, technical and business cooperation.

China Europe Water Platform launched at 6th World Water Forum

China and Europe have agreed to establish a platform for dialogue, joint research and private sector cooperation on better management of water resources.

On March 14, 2012 Chen Lei, Minister of Water Resources of China and the European Union, represented by the Danish Minister of the Environment, Ida Auken, signed a joint statement to establish the water platform.

The statement recognizes that China and Europe face similar challenges in managing water resources, and that water resources are expected to become increasingly strained due to socio-economic development and climate change. More

Next Events of CEWP

On May 16th, 2 events will take place in Jinan,Shandong Province: 

Conference on Research Co-operation – getting CEWP started

Starting at 09:00, this full day program will investigate opportunities for co-operation among European and Chinese water planners, researchers and business people. The first half of the day will have a close look at water in an urbanisation context, while the second half of the day will have a broader look at water resources management.
